ABC MA Honors 2021 Excellence in Construction Award Winners

After celebrating remotely last year due to the pandemic, over 175 ABC MA winners gathered at the Burlington Marriott last week to honor the 2021 Excellence in Construction Award winners.   The pandemic also made it impossible to hold our annual Safety Night last May, so we also honored this year's Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze STEP Safety Award winners.   The applicant pool for the 29th annual awards was particularly competitive, with each winner selected for the high standards of craftsmanship, safety and quality delivered by talented merit shop workers using the efficient merit shop approach.    Thanks goes out to this year’s panel of independent judges for the time and talent they contributed to selecting our winners. They are: ·      Ken Bromfield, P.E., Independent Engineering Consultant ·      Carolyn Day, AIA, Perkins Eastman ·& ...

ABC Welcomes Members Back with Returns to In-Person Events

ABC MA welcomed our membership back with our return to in-person events on June 3 with a fun outdoor networking event hosted at the Unicorn Office Park in Woburn.  We were joined by more than 80 attendees who were able to connect with fellow ABC members while enjoying catering courtesy of the Pennypacker's food truck and beverages courtesy of the Tapped Mobile Beer Truck.  During the event we recognized the graduating students from our training affiliate, the Gould Construction Institute, in an informal program that highlighted the efforts of their students, instructors, and GCI staff throughout what was a challenging year.  Despite a gloomy forecast, attendees were lively and excited to return to an in-person event and the ABC and GCI staff were excited to welcome them back.  We had five generous sponsors that helped to make the event possible including our Drink Sponsor – L.C. Anderson, Inc. – and our General Event Sponsors that included A&am ...
