Per the Massachusetts Office of Public Safety and Inspections, Please note the following change to Massachusetts Elevator Regulations regarding canceling scheduled inspections, and change to OPSI Policy regarding fees for acceptance test re-inspections.   Per 524 CMR 1.10 (4) Effective June 1, 2018: Inspections canceled by the owner or contractor within ten days of the scheduled inspection will result in forfeiture of all fees and a requirement to refile for said inspection.    This applies to all types of inspections. Sean O'Dowd, from ABC Member Company DECCO, Wins National Craft Championship for Pipefitting

Play Pause   It’s pretty impressive to be named the National Craft Champion for pipefitting, but downright amazing if pipefitting isn’t something you do every day.  “A lot of the other competitors were from the South and worked on jobs like oil refineries where they did pipefitting every day,” said Sean O’Dowd of DECCO, who took home the gold medal on March 28th at ABC Convention 2019 in Long Beach, CA.  “I do mostly clean piping on things like pharmaceutical projects.  I think I caught the other ...

Chairman's Message: Meet the Generals 2019

Karl Hudson, 2019 ABC MA Chairman Last month I wrote about the importance of member engagement.  Getting more involved in ABC isn’t something you should do for the organization, but to help your company.  Getting your employees involved in ABC activities and events makes them more engaged and more likely to stay. There’s no better example of member engagement than when our companies work with fellow members.  To encourage that, ABC holds our annual “Meet the Generals” event that brings together ABC general contractors and subcontractors. Meet the Generals is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd from 5:00-8:00 pm at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy.  We currently have 13 GCs scheduled to come.  They’re attending because they want to work with other ABC members, and it’s a great way to get on the radar of some of the finest contractors in Massachusetts. Meet the Generals When: Tuesday, April 23 Time: 5:00pm - 8:00pm Where ...
