Further Update On Code Review for Electrical Apprentices

The Electrical Board confirmed that the 237 CMR 13 has been updated effective 2/7 stating all Apprentices applying to sit for the exam will need the 15 hr. CE from the current code cycle adopted at time of when they take their exam. The Board set a date of March 31 as a deadline for this additional Educational requirement and will start rejecting applications that do not have the 15 hr. CE completion certificate. If someone sits for exam from now and before 3/31, the state will not reject the application to sit for test but that apprentice will need to take the 15 hr. CE before next code cycle. Electrical Board Update (3/11/19)

The Board of State Examiners of Electricians recently met on Monday, February 25, to cover a number of items including taking board meetings on the road to vocational and technical high schools throughout Massachusetts, the deadline for licensing renewals is fast approaching and will only be accepted via their online E-Licensing system, 15 hour code update course required to renewal certain licenses, license reciprocity, and a proposed extension to the expiration of education credits. Board Meetings Go On-The-Road: The Electrical Board will take board meetings on the road, visiting several technical and vocational high schools throughout Massachusetts.
