Last week, over 30 ABC MA members attended our annual Strategic Planning Conference at The Conference Center at Waltham Woods. Laura Cataldo, of Baker Tilly, facilitated the day-long conference, which served as a continuation of our five year plan to enhance ABC's standing as a construction industry leader.
Last year's meeting focused on workforce development, membership and legislative affairs. We developed an action plan to focus on youth outreach and training, membership growth and engagement, and proactive leadership on industry issues. We also focused on improving coordination and collaboration between ABC, the Gould Construction Institute, Building Mass Careers, and the Merit Apprenticeship Program to maximize effectiveness, meet future opportunities, and more seamlessly address our members' needs.
This year we are focusing on workforce development and the enhanced collaboration and branding of ABC MA and our growing training affiliates, the Gould Construction Institute, Building Mass Careers, and the Merit Apprenticeship Program. We also looked at our workforce agenda in the context of government affairs and membership development by reviewing and assessing areas of accomplishments, identifying and discussing new focus items, and establishing an action plan to continue our progress.
We sincerely appreciate everyone that participated in this important conference to establish ABC's goals for the upcoming year and beyond. For those who were unable to attend, we hope you will assist with our efforts to keep the momentum of great work already accomplished going forward for years to come.
