Women in Construction Week - Jacqueline Gorman

ABC is thrilled to celebrate Women in Construction Week! At ABC, women are a critical part of our organization and the construction workforce, and we are committed to recruiting and upskilling women in the construction industry as part of our efforts to continue growing a diverse and inclusive construction workforce. Many ABC member companies are women-owned and/or employ women in all areas of operations, from in the field to the office.

During Women in Construction Week, we are highlighting several ABC members to celebrate the great work they do every day of the year and to provide some insight into the women who represent our organization and industry, such as Jacqueline Gorman, President/Owner of Jacqueline Electric and Contracting Inc.

Family has played a big role in Jacqueline Gorman’s career.  It was through her dad, who also worked in the industry, that she fell in love with construction.  She counts his advice to “Dig deep, work hard and it will show through your whole life” as the best leadership advice she ever received.

After 36 years in the industry and nine as president of Jacqueline Electric and Contracting, Inc., the thing she is most proud of is her family – both at home and at work.

When it comes to advice for other women considering a career in construction, she says “Go for it!  This business rewards anyone who works hard and is committed to it.”  Which sounds a lot like what her dad might have said.
