About JM Coull
JM Coull is a construction management, design-build, and general contracting firm specializing in new construction and renovation projects in the institutional, education, commercial, healthcare, advanced technology, and life sciences markets. The firm has been providing solutions to its clients’ building needs since 1984, bringing a focus on quality, safety, and partnership to each project. JMC performs work throughout New England and is based in Maynard, MA.
MAYNARD, MA – JM Coull (JMC), along with Cambridge Seven Associates and Lemon|Brooke Landscape Architects, has begun construction on the second and final phase of The Discovery Museums' campus master plan. The firm is moving indoors from phase one, Discovery Woods, to completely transform the existing Science Discovery Museum building, providing much-needed square footage for new and current exhibits. These new spaces support the museum's commitment to authentic, hands-on learning through play by focusing on:
- Early brain development
- Water & Air
Phase 2 is scheduled for completion in December 2017. During construction, the Children's Discovery Museum and Discovery Woods will remain open to visitors.
“It’s hard to believe this project will be done at the end of the year,” comments Project Manager Heather Waice. “We started in 2015, and last summer saw the completion of Discovery Woods, which is a fantastic outdoor space that accomplishes the museum’s goal of getting kids outside to play. Now, we’re focusing on the Science Discovery Museum, and we’re really excited to see the transformation of this popular building over the next few months.”
MAYNARD, MA – JM Coull (JMC), in collaboration with Maugel Architects, has begun renovations and an addition at the West Concord Union Church in Concord, MA. The multifaceted project involves interior and exterior renovations that will increase safety, energy efficiencies, accessibility, and utility of the church.
The church has been a neighborhood fixture for more than a century, and is known for its inclusivity and welcoming spirit. As a local landmark, it has been servicing Concord and surrounding towns since 1894, holding services on Sundays and supporting the community through service and financial donations. The church is actively involved in local organizations such as Minute Man Arc for Human Services, Concord Prison Outreach, and Alcoholics Anonymous, and supports area families of military personnel.
“We are pleased to work with a local community church right in our own backyard,” says Project Manager Marielba Beltran. “It’s such a warm and inviting place, and they do so much to give back. This renovation will modify some of the more outdated portions of the building, making it easier for the congregation to gather and continue their good works within the community.”
MAYNARD, MA – JM Coull (JMC), along with DAI Architects, Inc., was selected by Charles River Community Health (CRCH) to construct its new location at 43 Foundry Avenue, Waltham, MA. The two-story, 19,000 sf space will be known as the Peter Koutoujian, Sr. Center for Primary Care, named in honor of the life-long Waltham resident and his commitment to the community.
CRCH will occupy the current vacant space where Raytheon previously had offices. The renovation will provide CRCH with a larger facility than the existing Waltham site, and will include primary care, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. The new location offers coordinated care that is patient centered, family friendly, and community focused.
“JM Coull is very excited to be working with Charles River Community Health,” says Project Manager Heather Waice. “The organization has been such an important part of the Waltham community, and provides quality and compassionate care to patients who might not otherwise receive these services. The completed building at 43 Foundry Avenue will give CRCH the needed space to continue providing patient-centered care.”
