There is no cost to interested bidders for their use of the web-based DCAMM E-Bid Room. DCAMM will continue to keep one hard copy set of bid documents for projects being bid, which will be available for public viewing in DCAMM’s Bid Room, located at One Ashburton Place, 1st Floor, Room 107, Boston, MA during normal business hours of 8:30am-4:30pm.
The DCAMM E-Bid Room has been operating successfully for several months now and feedback from our industry users has been very positive. The efficiencies and associated cost savings for contractors in obtaining bid documents electronically are significant. As previously announced and intended all along, DCAMM will move to the distribution of plans on the vast majority of its projects solely and exclusively through DCAMM’s E-Bid Room.
The only exception to this new procedure will be occasional projects that DCAMM deems high security risk projects. Only projects determined to be high security risk projects will not have project bid documents posted on the E-Bid Room and DCAMM will make hard copy sets for those high security risk projects available for distribution directly through DCAMM’s Bid Room at One Ashburton Place, Boston.
Exclusively Online Bid Submission Effective March 15, 2017:
After successful rollout of online only plans and specs, beginning March 15, 2017, bids for projects will ONLY be accepted through the agency’s web-based E-Bid Room. Bids for high security risk projects will still be required to be submitted online through DCAMM’s E-Bid Room.
DCAMM will send a separate notice to our contractor partners announcing this new bidding policy after January 18, 2017.
Bidders who wish to submit online bids prior to March 15, 2017 are encouraged to do so.
How to get Online Access to DCAMM’s E-Bid Room:
Firms that actively supply construction related labor and materials on construction projects in the Massachusetts marketplace, specifically prime contractors, subcontractors of any tier and material suppliers wishing to bid on DCAMM projects are urged to apply for access to the E-Bid Room now by following two simple steps:
First apply directly to DCAMM for DCAMM Verification to access the E-Bid Room plans and specifications and submit bids. (see link below).
Second, once verified by DCAMM, register with the E-Bid Room host, Bid Express. There is no cost to potential bidders to register. (see link below)
Once these two steps are successfully completed, potential bidders will be able to access, view, download and print DCAMM project procurement documents, including plans and specifications. This also includes addenda, plan holder lists, filed sub-bid lists and other procurement documents. This access also allows plan holders to submit their bids and edit their bids prior to the bidding deadline, through the E-Bid Room.
Public bid openings will still be held at DCAMM’s Bid Opening Room in the second floor mezzanine at One Ashburton Place in Boston. Bids electronically submitted through the E-Bid Room will be open and read aloud along with those received in hard copy form. Hard copy bids will no longer be accepted after March 15, 2017.
