The grant will be used to support two upcoming events: A diversity-themed Meet the Generals program at Madison Park High School in Boston featuring women and minority owned subcontractors; and a Dinner Meeting on October with a panel addressing diversity in our local construction industry. In addition, the grant will be used to conduct outreach and marketing in the minority contracting community. MA Chapter applied for the grant, under the direction of Amy Thompson West (Tocci Building Corp.), a member of the Board of Directors and the chair of our 2008 Strategic Alliance Task Force.
“This grant will allow us to enhance two of our inter-related key priorities for 2008: diversity and strategic alliances. We are enthusiastic about our prospects for creating real opportunities for our members and some of the under-served segments of our talented industry,” said ABC MA Chairman Chris Kenney (Kenney & Sams, P.C.).
There is still room for general contractors and WBE/MBE/DBE certified subcontractors to register for the September 17th event. You can register at our website – www.abcma.org – or by clicking here: /event_registration.aspx?eventid=1812
